Mapesil AC is a single-component, transparent or colored, acetic-crosslinked, solvent-free silicone sealant. It is presented as a thixotropic paste, easy to apply horizontally or vertically, and crosslinks with atmospheric moisture at room temperature, forming an elastic product. Available in 26 colors.

IMPORTANT NOTICES

• Do not use Mapesil AC on exteriors for joints between ceramics and light-colored natural stones, as dirt may accumulate on the joint edges. Use Mapesil LM.
• For sealing acid-sensitive surfaces, such as limestone, use a neutral silicone sealant (e.g. Mapesil LM).
• The use of Mapesil AC is not recommended on heavily plasticized plastic surfaces or bituminous surfaces, due to the release of substances that reduce adhesion and penetrate the sealant, altering the color and resistance.
• Mapesil AC's resistance to chemical agents is generally good; however, given the multiplicity of products and operating conditions, prior testing is necessary if in doubt.
• Do not use Mapesil AC for sealing aquariums, as it contains a substance hazardous to aquatic organisms.
• For sealing pavements subject to heavy traffic, use a polyurethane sealant (e.g. Mapeflex PU21)

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Mapesil AC is an acetic-crosslinking silicone sealant ideal for sealing glass, ceramics, and anodized aluminum. Once treated with an adhesion promoter, Primer FD, it can also be used on concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastics, and rubber.

Mapesil AC is used for:

• seal expansion joints subject to movements of ± 25% of the initial dimension;
• form a perfectly elastic joint between construction elements in the construction, mechanical, naval, automotive and industrial sectors.

• Sealing of ceramic and cement coatings and pavements, provided they are not subject to severe abrasions
• Sealing between sinks, sanitary appliances and ceramic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and showers, with colors coordinated with those of the grouting.
• Sealing expansion joints in swimming pools
• Mounting glass plates and artistic stained glass
• Glass and carpentry sealing
• Sealing of air, water, etc. ducts.
• Sealing portholes, windows, stained glass, etc.
• Sealing of tanks, pipes and boilers
• Sealing between materials with different coefficients of expansion
