Ultracolor Plus is a mortar made up of a mixture of special hydraulic binders, aggregates with calibrated granulometry, special polymers, hydrophobic additives, organic molecules and pigments. In Ultracolor Plus, Ultracolor technology is based on a special self-hydrating hydraulic binder that guarantees perfect uniformity of colors, through two innovative technologies.
CHARACTERISTICS
Ultracolor Plus allows you to obtain grouting with the following characteristics:
- Water repellency and drop effect
- Uniform colors and absence of stains, since Ultracolor Plus does not produce efflorescence. From the analyzes carried out with the electron microscope (SEM), it is observed that, unlike the Portland cement-based binder of a common cementitious grout, the special Ultracolor Plus cements, during the hydration process, do not generate hydroxide crystals. calcium (hydrolysis lime) that gives rise to efflorescence
- Colors resistant to ultraviolet rays and atmospheric agents
- Short wait times for cleaning and easy finishing
- Short waiting times for the passability and commissioning of the pavement or coating
- Smooth and compact final surface, with low water absorption and therefore easy to clean
- Virtually no shrinkage and therefore no cracks or fissures
- Optimal resistance to abrasion, compression and bending, even after freeze-thaw cycles and, therefore, optimal durability
- Good resistance to acids with pH > 3
IMPORTANT NOTICES
- Ultracolor Plus does not contain Portland cement and should not be mixed with gypsum or other hydraulic binders; Never add water to the mixture that has started to set.
- Never mix Ultracolor Plus with brackish or dirty water
- Use the product at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C
- Carry out the grouting on adequately dry or waterproofed supports to avoid the appearance of a whitish patina on the surface.
- After filling the joint with the mixture, it is not recommended to sprinkle the grouts with Ultracolor Plus powder to avoid color differences.
- When acid resistance or high hygiene is required, use appropriate antacid epoxy grouting materials.
- Expansion and division joints, present in walls and floors, should never be filled with Ultracolor Plus, but rather with the appropriate MAPEI elastic sealants.
- Sometimes, the surfaces of some ceramic or stone material tiles may have microporosities or roughness. It is advisable to carry out a preliminary test to verify that it can be cleaned and, when necessary, apply a protective treatment on the surface, preventing it from penetrating the surface porosities of the tiles.
- When acidic cleaners are used to clean the joints, it is advisable to carry out a preventive test to verify the stability of the color and, in any case, rinse the joints carefully with water to avoid leaving acidic residues on them.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Grouting, indoors and outdoors, of ceramic floors and coverings of any type (double-fired, single-fired, porcelain stoneware, clinker, etc.), terracotta, stone material (natural stones, marble, granite, agglomerates, etc.) and glass mosaic and marble.
